Safe, Accountable and Affordable
Electric Service

What we offer

We believe that now, more than ever, residents and businesses in our communities will benefit from SSJID’s plan.

Safety

As a core value of its operations, SSJID will proactively work to assure that local electrical distribution is safe and reliable for the region, just as it does now with its irrigation and water treatment services.

Local Accountability

SSJID is governed and overseen by a Board of Directors who reside within the District and are elected by District residents. Meetings of the Board of Directors are open to the public, ensuring that the conduct of business is open and transparent. Open meetings allow customers to participate in and be a part of the District’s decision-making process.

Value

Reduced rates will save our customers millions of dollars each year, and rate stability will mean lower rate increases in the future as SSJID maintains a 15% discount from PG&E’s rates.

Benefits

So why is SSJID going through the time, effort and expense to become the electric provider for the homes, schools, businesses and city governments in South San Joaquin County? We’re doing it because it will bring tremendous benefits to our customers and the local economy.

This is the vision behind the South San Joaquin Irrigation District’s effort to partner with our communities in Manteca, Escalon and Ripon and replace PG&E as the region’s local power provider.
